WEST HAVEN, CT — Oak B Beach in West Haven is temporarily closed due to an elevated bacteria level, according to officials.
Officials said the West Haven Health Department conducts weekly bathing water samplings from Memorial Day until Labor Day.
The bathing water sites were tested on May 26 and analyzed on May 27, according to officials.
“Oak B Beach bacteria level is elevated,” officials wrote in a post on the West Haven Health Department’s Facebook page. “All other beaches had bacteria levels below the State of Connecticut’s action standard.”
Oak B Beach will be closed and resampled on Friday, May 29, pending a result on June 1, according to the notice from the health department.
