Several people were arrested, including the victim, in connection with the incident, according to police.

WEST HAVEN, CT — A man was arrested in connection with a shooting at a home during a domestic dispute last Thursday in West Haven, according to police.

Police responded around 7 p.m. on Aug. 6 to a home on Allan Street on the report of a person shot, according to Sgt. Scott Allard.

Allard said it was also reported that the male victim already went to hospital for further medical treatment, and that he may have been struck in the leg.

Arriving officers talked with two people at the house, including 64-year-old Richard Warren, who was suspected of the shooting, according to Allard.

Allard said an investigation found that the incident stemmed from a domestic dispute involving multiple family members and ultimately escalated into an assault during a disturbance at the home where Richard Warren lives. Warren was taken into custody without incident, according to Allard.

The victim was released from the hospital several hours later with what Allard said appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries.

Richard Warren was charged with first-degree assault, first-degree reckless endangerment, illegal discharge of a firearm, risk of injury to a child, and second-degree breach pf peace. He was held in lieu of a $750,000 bond.

Allard said several others who were involved in the disturbance, including the victim, were also arrested and charged with breach of peace. Ricktrel Warren, 21, of West Haven; Wilneaka Harris, 36, of New Haven, and Amaya Moye, 21, of New Haven, were each charged with breach of peace and released on a promise to appear in court.
