Authorities say he fled Connecticut with a 14-year-old girl before being tracked to Minneapolis, where investigators found illicit images and videos on his phone. He now faces lengthy mandatory prison time, with sentencing still to be scheduled.
2. Judge gives man effective life sentence in fatal New Haven shooting, wounding of off-duty officer (ctpost.com) — A New Haven judge has sentenced 64-year-old Albert Eaddy to 65 years in prison for killing Troy Clark, a 46-year-old West Haven man, and critically wounding an off-duty New Haven police captain in 2019. The ruling, delivered in state Superior Court, follows a jury's June conviction and brings some closure to Clark's family, who described a permanent hole left in their lives.
3. New Haven officials to provide update on weekend street takeover arrests (wfsb.com) — West Haven residents are part of a regional crackdown on dangerous street takeovers, with local police joining New Haven and North Haven officials in a task force that has already impounded 22 illegal vehicles this year. Leaders will outline recent arrests and enforcement efforts at a Wednesday briefing in New Haven. The operation targets reckless driving, stolen vehicles, and illegal firearms tied to these incidents.
4. Middletown-Based CT Convention & Sports Bureau (CTMEETINGS) Elects Three New Board Members (patch.com) — West Haven residents are represented statewide as Mayor Dorinda Borer continues serving on the Connecticut Convention & Sports Bureau board, which helps attract meetings and sports events that drive tourism dollars. The Middletown-based group reports more than $75 million in visitor revenue and thousands of hospitality jobs supported statewide. Three new board members were elected while current officers, including Borer, remain in place.
