Funded entirely by donors, the high-tech facility will anchor a key campus gateway and expand business education resources that many local students and workers rely on.
3. This year's not-so-smooth parking experience for students (chargerbulletin.com) — Students at the University of New Haven in West Haven are voicing frustration over a rocky parking permit rollout, new $200 commuter fees, and stricter ticketing that they say worsens daily stress. Technical glitches, long waits, and limited spaces have left many circling lots, getting ticketed, and questioning whether the university is doing enough to ease congestion.
4. Man Accused of Kidnapping 5-Year-Old From Bus Stop Threatened to Kill Boy if Mom Called Police (usmagazine.com) — A serious kidnapping case that began with an argument at a West Haven Family Dollar led to an AMBER Alert and a multi-city search for a 5-year-old boy. Police say the suspect later took the child from a New Haven bus stop and threatened violence if officers were called, before negotiators convinced him to release the child safely and arrested him days later.
5. GametimeCT boys soccer rankings, week 2 (Sept. 22): Seven top 10 teams remain undefeated (nhregister.com) — GametimeCT's latest boys soccer power rankings keep all top 10 teams in place, with Greenwich and Staples still leading after dominant, shutout weeks. West Haven gets a nod for holding undefeated Xavier to a 1-1 tie, a result that slightly drops Xavier in the standings and underscores the local program's competitiveness against top-ranked opponents.
