Bailey Middle School To Have Extra Officers After ‘Rumor’: Police

WEST HAVEN, CT — Bailey Middle School in West Haven will have an additional police presence following an “unsubstantiated” rumor, according to police.

Police said that a recent rumor that has been circulating among Bailey students has been “thoroughly investigated by our School Recourse Officers and all aspects of the rumor have been found to be unsubstantiated.”

“Although there are no credible safety concerns, we will be staffing additional officers at Bailey to instill confidence in the students that their safety and well-being are our main concerns, as well as the staff and administration at the school and throughout the district,” police said in a post on Facebook.

Police did not provide details on what the “rumor” involved.
