Beloved K-9 Mourned By West Haven Police Department

The recently retired K-9 was involved in one of the department's largest drug seizures ever, according to police.

WEST HAVEN, CT — The West Haven Police Department is mourning the loss of beloved K-9 Ike, who died on Tuesday night, according to police.

Police said K-9 Ike and his partner Sgt. Scott Bloom graduated from the Connecticut State Police Patrol and Narcotic program in 2013.

“During his years of service Ike assisted in over 1,700 calls for service,” police wrote in a post on Facebook. “Ike was also involved in one of the largest drug seizures our department has ever discovered. Ike recently retired in 2022 where he resided with Sgt. Bloom until his unfortunate passing last evening.
