Body Found In Debris Of House Fire In West Haven: Report
A fire destroyed a home in West Haven early Monday morning.

WEST HAVEN, CT — One person died in a fire that destroyed a home early Monday morning in West Haven, according to WTNH News 8.
WTNH reported that crews found the body of an adult male in the debris on Tuesday. The fire happened on Collis Street across from the Public Works Garage.
Family and friends told NBC Connecticut on Monday morning that they hadn’t been able to get in touch with the 88-year-old man who lived in the home. The roof caved in on the floor below due to the fire.

The New Haven Register reported that the Chief Medical Examiner's office said the man died by smoke inhalation and thermal injuries. The death was ruled accidental, according to the Register.
