Details Released For Highly Anticipated Waterfront Restaurant, Venue In West Haven

WEST HAVEN, CT — The developers of the highly anticipated The Kesley at Savin Rock project have provided more details and a look at the upscale restaurant and event venue planned at the former Savin Rock Conference Center building in West Haven.

The Kelsey at Savin Rock, located at 6 Rock St., is described as a “new restaurant and event venue coming to life at the historic Savin Rock waterfront in West Haven,” according to its website.

“Currently under development within the long-vacant Savin Rock Conference Center, The Kelsey is part of a major revitalization effort that will bring dining, celebrations, and community gatherings back to this iconic shoreline location,” a post on its website reads.

The Kelsey replaces previously stalled plans for New England Brewing Company to move into the location after years of legal cases and appeals from neighboring restaurant Jimmies of Savin Rock and The Land Trust of West Haven.

“Designed as a multi-level destination, The Kelsey will feature an American coastal–inspired restaurant focused on fresh seafood, a raw bar, handcrafted pastas, and elevated comfort classics like burgers,” according to The Kelsey’s website. “Flexible indoor dining rooms will seamlessly convert into elegant event and banquet spaces, while new outdoor decks and a rooftop dining experience—with a seasonal bar—will offer sweeping views of the water.”

The redevelopment “preserves the footprint of the original city-owned building while introducing a refreshed façade, modern amenities, elevators, and thoughtfully designed spaces for live music, indoor and outdoor dining, and private events,” according to the website.

“With key approvals secured and construction moving forward, The Kelsey is anticipated to open at the end of 2026,” the post reads. “More than just a restaurant, The Kelsey aims to be a vibrant waterfront gathering place—reviving a beloved landmark and creating a new chapter for Savin Rock’s dining and event scene.”
