Direct Deposit Mishap Is ‘Inexcusable’: West Haven Mayor Rossi
City employees didn't receive their direct deposit checks and Mayor Nancy Rossi says the situation is "troubling and inexcusable."

WEST HAVEN, CT — West Haven Mayor Nancy R. Rossi is launching an investigation into why city employees did not receive their direct deposit checks on Friday, March 13. Rossi apologized to all city employees for the mishap. Her full statement, released Wednesday morning, is below:
“As Mayor, I offer my sincerest apology to all city employees who did not receive their direct deposit on Friday, March 13. The situation is troubling and inexcusable. I have directed an investigation into the matter, as this is not the first time there has been a problem with direct deposit or the overall payroll operation. If it is revealed that this situation was caused by an intentional action by a city employee, swift and harsh discipline will result, including, but not limited to, termination of employment. I have also made arrangements for the reimbursement to employees of any bank fees related to the delayed direct deposits. Please email all supporting documentation to the Finance Director and copy me. We are taking the necessary steps to ensure that we have controls in place so this never happens again.”
