‘Electrical Issue’ Evacuates West Haven High School
West Haven High School is currently evacuated, officials said.

WEST HAVEN, CT — West Haven High School has been evacuated due to “the activation of a smoke detector that was likely caused by an electrical issue due to construction,” according to officials.
“All students are safe in the rink and the pool,” officials wrote on the West Haven Public Schools Facebook page. “There is no danger to students. There is a large police presence near Platt Avenue that is UNRELATED to the evacuation at WHHS.”
