Employee Fired At West Haven Nursing Home After Hitting Resident
A nursing home in West Haven was recently fined for the incident, the Connecticut Health I-Team reports.
WEST HAVEN, CT — A nursing home employee was recently fired after hitting a combative resident in the face, according to the Connecticut Health I-Team.
Cara Rosner of the Connecticut Health I-Team reports that Seacrest Retirement Center in West Haven was fined $1,530 for the incident, in which the resident suffered a right eye orbit fracture.
The employee, who originally denied hitting the resident, told officials that the resident had become combative while receiving incontinence care and had hit the employee in the face with a closed fist, according to the report.
