Family First Initiative Launches Legacy Circles Series to Strengthen Families Across Greater New Haven
A free community initiative helping parents, youth, and families build leadership, strengthen relationships, and leave lasting legacies.
For many families, the biggest obstacles to personal growth are not a lack of desire, but a lack of access.
Transportation, childcare, cost, scheduling conflicts, and not knowing where to begin often prevent people from participating in programs that could strengthen their families and improve their futures.
Family First Initiative (FFi), a Connecticut-based nonprofit organization, believes those barriers should not determine a family's opportunity to grow.

To help change that, FFi is launching the Legacy Circles Series, a free multi-session community initiative designed to strengthen individuals, families, and communities through meaningful conversations, leadership development, financial education, and relationship-building.
Rather than offering a one-size-fits-all program, Legacy Circles brings together several of Family First Initiative's signature programs, each designed to meet people where they are in life.

Programs Included
Dream Moms provides mothers and caregivers with a supportive community focused on personal growth, leadership, family well-being, and building strong support networks.
LEAD helps fathers and father figures strengthen their leadership at home and in the community while building meaningful connections with other men committed to their families.
RiSE Up Youth equips young people with leadership skills, confidence, financial literacy, life skills, and positive mentorship to help prepare them for the future.
The series also includes an intergenerational family session, bringing parents, youth, and caregivers together to strengthen communication, deepen understanding, and create shared experiences that extend beyond the classroom.
The Legacy Circles Series concludes with a community celebration recognizing participants and the relationships built throughout the program.
Breaking the Barriers to Participation
Family First Initiative understands that participation is often limited by challenges outside a person's control.
Thanks to support from community partners and funders, Legacy Circles is offered at no cost to participants. Sessions are intentionally hosted in an accessible community location, and support is available to help reduce common barriers such as childcare and other participation needs whenever possible.
The goal is simple: remove as many obstacles as possible so families can focus on learning, connecting, and growing together.
Building Stronger Communities Starts with Stronger Families
Family First Initiative was founded on the belief that lasting community change begins with strong individuals and strong families.
Its mission is to strengthen individuals, families, and communities by building leadership, financial literacy, and legacy planning skills across generations through community-based programs.
Whether someone is a parent looking for support or connection, a young person preparing for the future, or a family wanting to grow together, there is a place for them within the Legacy Circles Series.
Registration is now open, and space is limited for each session.
