Victim Identified In Fatal Shooting In West Haven: UPDATE

A car crashed into an apartment building after a man was fatally shot while driving early Monday morning in West Haven.

WEST HAVEN, CT — In a Monday afternoon update, police have identified the victim in the fatal overnight shooting as Jason Roman, 36, of Naugatuck, according to WTNH News 8. Roman was fatally shot while driving his vehicle early Monday morning in West Haven, according to multiple reports.

NBC Connecticut reports the victim, later identified as Roman, was driving in the rear lot of an apartment building in the 200 block of Jaffrey Street at about 1 a.m. when he was shot.

The car then crashed into the apartment building and caused extensive damage, according to the New Haven Register.

Responding officers found the victim nearby and he was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital where he later died.
