Father Of NBA Player Found Dead In West Haven
Police are investigating the untimely death of the father of a recent NBA draft pick.

WEST HAVEN, CT — The father of Tremont Waters, a former standout basketball player at Notre Dame-West Haven who was recently drafted by the Boston Celtics, was found dead in a West Haven hotel on Thursday, according to multiple reports.
WTNH News 8 reports Ed Waters, 49, was found dead at the Super 8 Hotel on Kimberly Drive after police responded to a report of an injured/ill person shortly after 12 noon. Police said they were investigating the case as an untimely death and the Medical Examiner's office confirmed Friday afternoon the death was a suicide caused by a gunshot to the head, according to the New Haven Register.
Tremont Waters was recently selected by the Boston Celtics with the 51st overall pick in the NBA Draft after he led the LSU Tigers to the SEC regular-season title earlier this year. The Celtics recently signed Waters to a two-way contract in which he is expected to spend the majority of his time with G-League Maine, according to the Boston Globe.
