WEST HAVEN, CT — Police are investigating incidents that saw two police officers injured, multiple fights that broke out during a large gathering at a beach with around 2,000 people, and a shooting on Monday night in West Haven, according to multiple reports, including WTNH News 8.
WTNH reports the large crowd at the beach was made up of mostly juveniles. An officer was injured during the incident but was expected to be OK, according to WTNH.
WFSB 3 reports the large beach party started around 3 p.m. and was advertised on social media.

Arrests were made and there were no major injuries, according to WFSB 3.
Police responded to a reported shooting at a nearby gas station after the fight, according to NBC Connecticut.

NBC reports an officer was injured while making an arrest, and it wasn’t known if the fight and shooting were connected.
A passerby suffered minor injuries when they were shot at Best Gas on Campell Avenue around 7 p.m., according to WFSB 3.
West Haven Police Chief Joseph Perno told WFSB 3 that he was "very upset when people that were coming to enjoy the beach left because of this. It was very upsetting to see that parents [and] people walking their dogs had to leave because of this nonsense."
