Fire Displaces 15 In West Haven: Officials

Crews extinguished a fire at a condominium complex Wednesday night in West Haven.

WEST HAVEN, CT — Six families were displaced from their homes after a fire at a condominium complex on Coleman Street in West Haven on Wednesday night, according to officials.

The American Red Cross is providing assistance to 15 people – 11 adults and four children, officials said.

Crews from all three city fire districts responded to the fire, according to a post on the West Haven Professional Firefighters- IAFF Local 1198 union’s Facebook page.

“Arriving units encountered a large volume of fire in a condo complex which escalated to a 3rd alarm equivalent,” officials wrote in the post. “The fire was quickly brought under control by responding units preventing further spread to other apartments.”
