WEST HAVEN, CT — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented times. Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these everyday heroes.

What does the nominee do for work?:
Firefighter

Why do you believe the nominee should be recognized or honored?
Jose’ should be recognized for his service as the Dixwell Station’s Senior Watchman. His duties include the distribution of PPE to younger members of the department as well as responding to fires during the Covid-19 crisis.

What’s one thing you want everyone to know about your hero?:
Despite the uphill battles he faces from the threat of Covid-19, Jose’ continues to inspire younger members to be better.
