Homes Evacuated During Police Investigation In West Haven: PD
A potential gunshot was heard while officers were responding to a domestic violence complaint, according to police.
WEST HAVEN, CT — Several homes were evacuated while police investigated a domestic violence incident that included a potential gunshot Monday morning in West Haven, according to police.
Police responded to a home on First Avenue around 10:20 a.m. on the report of a domestic violence complaint.
A potential gunshot was overheard by dispatchers who were taking the emergency call, according to police.

“Officers arrived and established a perimeter,” police wrote in a post on Facebook. “Neighboring residences were evacuated, and communication was made between Officers and the occupants of the home in question. All individuals inside the dwelling exited the home and were detained. Thankfully, no one was injured and our investigators are working to establish what occurred.
“This is an isolated incident with no threat to the public. The investigation is in its preliminary stages and no further information will be released at this time. Thank you for your understanding.”
