ID Released in Fatal Hit-and-Run Accident: West Haven Police
Police released the victim's identity Monday afternoon.
WEST HAVEN, CT — Police on Monday said the victim who was fatally struck by an evading vehicle this weekend has been identified as Rudy Chacon Portillo, 52, of Spring Street.
West Haven Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian accident, which occurred early Sunday. Police said they responded at 2:07 a.m. to to the area of Boston Post Road and Barbara Street for a motor vehicle collision involving, a pedestrian fatally struck by an evading vehicle.
The Police Department's Major Accident Squad is continuing this investigation. Later on Sunday, police said they located the vehicle and the operator involved in the fatal evading accident.
