Joan L. Dowd, 81 of Milford, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2026.

Joan L. Dowd, 81 of Milford, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2026, while surrounded by her loving family at her home in Milford, CT. Joan was born on June 17, 1944, in Portland, Oregon, to the late Monroe and Ruth Rapaport. She was the beloved wife of Gerald Dowd for 63 happy years.

Joan was a dedicated and hardworking woman who spent over 20 years working for Schick, Joan took pride in her work and the life she built for her family. She found joy in caring for her family, spending time together, and going on shopping sprees. Joan also enjoyed playing setback with her friends, and had a great love for animals she was also a generous supporter of charitable causes close to her heart.

In addition to her beloved husband, Gerald, Joan is survived by their two daughters: Jaclyn Aliberti (Ron) and Jo-Ann Waldron (Ken). Three grandchildren: Samantha Rivera (William), Chelsea Aliberti, Cailey Waldron, and great-granddaughters Janiyah and Aubriella. As well as her sister Gail Rosenzweig, and many additional beloved family and friends.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Monday, May 11, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad Street, Milford.
