Notre Dame is proud to congratulate Liam Nuttall ‘18 on being named a National Merit Scholar Semi-Finalist!
The 2016 PSAT test initially qualified entrants for the National Merit Scholar program, and the nationwide pool of semifinalists includes the highest-scoring entrants in each state.
During his tenure at ND, Liam has participated in Team ND, Model UN, Ski and Snowboard Club, Math Honor Society, Peer Counseling, Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field, and Cross Country, where he served as captain. He is a member of the Math, Spanish and National Honor Societies, and he will soon achieve Eagle Scout ranking in Boy Scouts.
Liam has also been recognized as a Connecticut Association of Schools Governor’s Scholar in 2017 and has received the Freshman Math Award, Sophomore Biology Award, Yale Book Club Award, Bausch and Lomb Math and Science Award, among other honors. He has been accepted to and will attend Harvard University next fall.
About 1.6 million juniors from more than 22,000 high schools were entered into the 2018 National Merit Scholarship Program after taking the 2016 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®).The nationwide semifinalists represent less than 1 percent of U.S. high school seniors.
