Longtime Notre Dame-West Haven Athletic Director To Retire

WEST HAVEN, CT — Longtime Notre Dame-West Haven Athletic Director Tom Marcucci has announced that he will retire at the end of the school year after 48 years at the school. Marcucci, a member of Notre Dame’s Class of 1966, has been a teacher, coach and administrator at the school. Marcucci’s retirement is effective June 30.

Current Assistant Athletic Director Jason Shea, who is also Notre Dame’s basketball coach, will take over the reins from Marcucci, according to GoGreenKnights.com. Shea is a member of Notre Dame’s Class of 1997.

"People say you know when it is time and for me it is now," Marcucci said via GoGreenKnights.com. “I want to be able to not worry about the calendar and the clock while I am in good health. I still love coming to work each day, but now my wife Pat and I will have the freedom to do what we want when we want."

A retirement celebration for Marcucci will be held on Wednesday, June 13 at Notre Dame.
