Man Taken into Custody After Telling West Haven Dispatchers He Wanted to Kill: Police
The man claimed to have weapons but West Haven police said none were found. The man was taken into custody without incident.

WEST HAVEN, CT — Police were called in the middle of the night to a Front Avenue address for a man who told 911 dispatchers he was homicidal and suicidal.
He also claimed to be armed but that later proved to not be true, police said.
The male stated to dispatchers that he was walking on Front Avenue at 3 a.m. in possession of a 9mm handgun and a knife and wanted to kill, police said in a news release.

Officers arriving found the male on Front Avenue near Locust Street.
The male then walked into a driveway where police intercepted, police said. The male was transported to an area hospital for a mental heatlh evaluation.

No weapons were found on his person or in the area, police said. A Police K9 was used for evidence recovery confirming no weapons were in his possession or left behind in the area, police said.
