Man Charged In Fatal Shooting In West Haven: Police
The man is being held in lieu of a $1 million bond after being arrested on charges including murder and home invasion, according to police.

WEST HAVEN, CT — A New Haven man has been charged with murder in connection with a fatal shooting in West Haven in December, according to police.
Police responded to the 100 block of Platt Avenue around 3 a.m. on Dec. 16 on the report of a person shot. The victim, identified as Carlos Gore Jr., died of his injuries, according to police.
Members of the West Haven Police Detective Bureau conducted a lengthy investigation into the homicide and obtained an arrest warrant on April 27 for Paul Burruss Sr., police said on Wednesday night.

Burruss, 52, was arrested Wednesday on charges of felony murder, home invasion, first-degree robbery and conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery. He was found in Seymour on Wednesday and taken into custody by members of the West Haven Police Department Investigative Services Division with assistance from the Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicle Police, Connecticut State Police and the Seymour Police Department, according to officials.
Burruss was taken to the West Haven Police Department where he was processed and held in lieu of a $1 million bond.

New Haven Field Office and the public for their cooperation and assistance in this investigation,” police wrote in a news release. “We would also like to offer our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Carlos Gore Jr.”
