Man Charged With Murder In Fatal Shooting: West Haven Police

A 21-year-old man was shot to death while inside a car at a gas station in West Haven, according to police.

WEST HAVEN, CT — A Hamden man has been charged with murder in connection with the fatal shooting of a man in West Haven in July, according to police. Emergency crews responded to First Fuel, 810 First Ave., around 2:40 p.m. on July 17 on the report of a motor vehicle accident with a person shot.

Police said Khalil Adbul-Hakeem, 21, was killed from a single gunshot while in a car at First Fuel.

Lamar Nalley, 27, of Hamden, was arrested on a warrant Sept. 16 following an extensive investigation by the West Haven Police Department’s Detective Division, officials said.

Nalley was charged with murder, criminal possession of a firearm and carrying a pistol without a permit. He was being held in lieu of a $1 million bond.

“The West Haven Police Department would like to thanks State’s Attorney Margaret Kelley, Supervisory Assistant State’s Attorney Howard Stein, and Inspector Patrick Dooling of Milford Superior Court for their assistance in this case,” police said in a statement.
