Man Grew 600 Marijuana Plants in Daycare Facility’s Backyard: West Haven Police

West Haven Police have made an arrest after more than 600 marijuana plants were recently found in the backyard of a home daycare: BREAKING

WEST HAVEN, CT — A West Haven man has been charged with possessing more than 600 marijuana plants at his address, a home daycare, which was discovered during a state inspection last week.

West Haven Police arrested Danny Miller, 57, of 159 Norfolk Street in West Haven, on charges of possession of a hallucinogenic, sale of controlled substances and operation of drug factory.

Police said more charges may be forthcoming. Miller will be arraigned today (Sept. 13), according to police.

West Haven Police recently responded to the home, which was a licensed daycare facility, after state inspectors were conducting a compliance inspection and discovered marijuana plants growing in the backyard of the daycare.

Officers observed a newly erected wooden fence that housed the plants, according to police.

Police found approximately 600 marijuana plants that were 6-10 feet tall. The facility was shut down by City Housing inspectors, and the daycare license was revoked, police said.
