Man Made Drunk 911 Call, Falsely Reported Stabbing: West Haven Police

Emergency crews responded to the scene of the reported stabbing, but no victim was found. The suspect was located through a cellphone trace.

WEST HAVEN, CT — A West Haven man is accused of making a false 911 call when police said he reported a stabbing while he was drunk and upset with a girlfriend.

Marque Knox, 31, of Main Street, was arrested on a warrant for the Jan. 31 incident.

Police said a 911 call was made from a cell phone claiming a person was stabbed on Crest Street. Emergency resources from Police, Fire and EMS were all dispatched to this area looking for an injured party, according to police.

After several attempts, police were able to trace the cell phone number that belonged to Knox.

Knox told officers that he made the call because he was drunk and upset with a girlfriend, according to police.

Knox was arrested on charges of falsely reporting an incident and misuse of a 911 System. He was held on bond.
