Man Threatened To Shoot Clerk At Krauszer’s: West Haven Police

Police executed a search warrant at the man's home early Thursday morning and seized two facsimile guns and one "French Assault Rifle."

WEST HAVEN, CT — A man is accused of showing a gun and threatening to shoot an employee at Krauszer's in West Haven, according to police.

Police executed a search warrant in the 600 block of Third Avenue around 4:30 a.m. on Thursday in connection with the incident. Police said the search warrant was the result of an investigation stemming from an argument that happened at Krauszer's at 111 Elm Street.

Officers identified the suspect as Virgil Rhodes, who is accused of displaying a gun and threatening to shoot the store’s lone employee during the argument, according to police.

Rhodes was arrested on a warrant and charged with first-degree threatening, second-degree reckless endangerment, third-degree criminal mischief and disorderly conduct. He was held in lieu of a $50,000 bond.

During the search, officers found two facsimile handguns and one 7.5-caliber French Assault Rifle in Rhodes’ bedroom, according to police. Rhodes will be charged accordingly and held on bond, police said.
