WEST HAVEN, CT — Multiple police officers were injured Friday night when a fight broke out at a high school football game in West Haven, according to multiple reports citing authorities.

Police said the incident happened around 8:30 p.m. when officers working at the Notre Dame and Hillhouse football game at Veterans Field saw a group of kids fighting, WFSB reported. Police requested assistance as the group grew larger, reports said.

According to Sgt. Scott Allard of the West Haven Police Department, multiple arrests were made as officers broke up the fight, FOX61 reported.

“During these scuffles, several police officers sustained minor injuries,” Allard said.

Additional details about the officers' conditions were not released. It's also unclear how many people were arrested and if they will face charges.
