New Councilperson Approved, Fills West Haven City Council Vacancy

The West Haven City Council has filled a vacancy following the recent resignation of State Rep. Trenee McGee.

WEST HAVEN, CT — Kathy Tucker has been approved as the new representative of the 7th District on the West Haven City Council, according to the New Haven Register.

Tucker replaces fellow Democrat Trenee McGee resigned her seat earlier this month. McGee resigned to focus on her new role as a state representative and said someone new should represent her district on the City Council, the Register previously reported.

McGee won the special election in December to fill the vacant seat in the state's 116th House District following the resignation of Michael DiMassa in October.
