Sai Vipparla '19 of Milford, Takes Home the Prestigious Patent Application Award

His invention...The Petsthetic
Notre Dame West Haven student Sai Vipparla ’19 of Milford, took home the prestigious patent application award for his pet prosthetic invention, The Petsthetic, at the National Invention Convention and Entrepreneurship Expo at The Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Michigan this weekend. Vipparla’s ‘19 winning invention was a 3D printed prosthetic leg for dogs that cost less than $10 and takes 8-10 hours to print - saving pet owners nearly $2,000 and long waiting times for customized prosthetic fittings. His pet prosthetic was chosen from amongst 18,000 exhibits at the Connecticut Invention Convention held at the University of Connecticut.
