Obituary: Alfred ‘Al’ Posey Jr., 71, Of West Haven

WEST HAVEN, CT — (From West Haven Funeral Home): Alfred “Al” Posey Jr., 71, of West Haven, passed away on November 22, 2022. He was born in New Haven, son of the late Alfred Sr. and Sally Platt Posey.

Al is survived by his sons, Scott Posey and his wife Denise and Matthew Posey and his wife Brandy, his grandchildren Mackenzie, Kylie, Mattie Posey and Savanna Florian, his 2 great-grandchildren and his longtime companion Debra Romero. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his sister Katherine Posey.

In the early 1970s, Al opened his doors at Al’s Service Center, where he worked on and fixed almost any make and model. He was a longtime member of City Point Yacht Club, where he was a past Commadore, and he was also a member of West Haven Elks Lodge 1537.

Al was a former fire commissioner for the West Haven Fire Dept, West Shore District.

Al loved the ocean, whether it was overlooking the shore from his front yard or cruising the sound on his boat.
