WEST HAVEN, CT — (From West Haven Funeral Home): Edward P. Cormier, 73, of West Haven, beloved husband of the late Gay (Sarnick) Cormier, passed away on Sunday, October 23, 2022 in his home near the beach. Edward was born on February 28, 1949 at Bridgeport Hospital to Mary (Tanski) Cormier and Edward J. Cormier.
Ed grew up in Bridgeport and graduated from Bullard Havens class of ’67. He was a proud Navy veteran of the USS Lexington where he was stationed in Pensacola, FL. He worked for many years as a printer at Response Graphics in Stratford. He married the love of his life during that time and was predeceased by her in 1985 and never remarried.

He enjoyed living a simple life by the beach, playing bocce with his friends and soaking up the sunshine. He was known for his big personality and his joking ways. He liked to enjoy life and spent most of his time doing exactly what he felt like doing. He found happiness by the beach with his dear friends and with his daughter, son in law and grandsons. He had immense gratitude for his sister, Eileen, that was always by his side throughout his life.
Survivors include his loving daughter, Jacqueline (Cormier) Waszczak, her husband Christopher and their sons, Jay and Isaac of Orange Park, FL; his devoted sister, Eileen (Cormier) Buckmir and her husband Michael of Stratford; his sister Jeanne (Cormier) Thayer of Stratford; many nieces and nephews, especially Elizabeth Buckmir, whom he was grateful for her ongoing advice and cooking ability, along with a few very treasured friends.
