Obituary: Fiore Nicola "Nicholas" Pacelli (Porto Funeral Homes)

Porto Funeral Homes (West Haven/East Haven)

Fiore Nicola Pacelli “Nicholas”, 82, of Northford, CT passed away on October 5th at The Curtis Home, Meriden, CT. Nicholas was born July 22, 1944, in San Salvatore Telesino, Province of Benevento, Italy to the late Luigi and Maria (Federico) Pacelli. He came to the United States with his father in 1954 aboard the Andrea Doria, joining his mother, brother and sister who traveled to the U.S. the year before. He was brother to Anna DiLorenzo, Raymond Pacelli, Louis Pacelli and Joseph Pacelli. He grew up in both New Haven and West Haven, graduating from West Haven High School in 1963. He was a proud Vietnam Veteran serving in the Army from 1965-1967, before beginning a career as a Sales Merchandiser for Nabisco Inc. for over 30 years.

As a young boy, Nicholas was a bit of a rascal, often getting his ear pulled on for his antics. But that spunk transformed into a driven, dedicated, and stalwart man who worked hard and took care of business. Widowed early on, he raised two young daughters with the love and support of his sister Anna and his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Marie and Frank Baldo. It did take a village and he used every bit of it. A friendly guy to all, he found new and old friends wherever he went. He was a vicious card player, an unfortunate bicycle rider, and everyone’s local “Cracker Stacker”.

Nicholas was predeceased by his loving wives Lucille Baldo Pacelli (1982) and Marygrace Remian Pacelli (2014). He is survived by his daughters, Gina (Richard) Thomas and Nicole (Jong) Park and stepchildren, Joseph (Kendra) Remian and Dyann (Greg) Harrs, and his many loving grandchildren: Joseph Pacelli, Richard Thomas, Brandon Thomas, Mia Park, Adam Park, Christina Ramroop, Jenna Remian, Taylor Harrs, Torrin Harrs, Tegan Harrs, great-grandchild Lily Ramroop, and many loving nieces and nephews.
