Obituary: Franklin David Reid Jr., 38, Of West Haven
Great with children, he often took on the responsibility of an honorary big brother or substitute dad-like figure to those who needed him.

WEST HAVEN, CT — (From West Haven Funeral Home): On Monday, January 2, 1984, at Yale New Haven Hospital, a beautiful light by the name of Franklin David Reid, Jr., was born to Franklin David Reid, Sr., and Delores (Williams) Reid. A brief but beautiful gift to this world, Frank departed this life for his heavenly home on Thursday, August 11, 2022.
Raised in West Haven, Frank was a member of West Haven High School’s graduating class of 2002. Except for three years spent in Syracuse, NY (2012 - 2015), Frank lived most of his life in Connecticut. Collecting lifelong friends along the way, he had a variety of jobs throughout his adult years, his most recent being a Trainer and Yard Specialist for Amazon.
Generous to a fault, Frank was great with children, often taking on the responsibility of an honorary big brother or substitute dad-like figure to those who needed him. He was someone who thrived on helping the ones he loved, and that help ranged from watching their kids so that they could work, supporting their small business, or simply lending a listening ear or shoulder to cry on. To his younger cousins, sometimes, that “help” and “love” looked like a surprisingly well executed wrestling move, his go-to move being the choke-slam.

He loved football and was a diehard Baltimore Ravens fan. He also enjoyed wrestling, anime, and video games, and could talk endlessly and passionately about each of those subjects.
Frank was a fan of all things Marvel & DC comic related. While personally identifying with Batman, the Dark Knight himself, to those who knew him well, fully aware of his true worth and value as the epicenter of connection and communication with and between family and friends, Frank will always be loved and remembered as their Superman.
