Obituary: Harry J. Zinn Jr., 71, Of West Haven

WEST HAVEN, CT — (From Gregory F. Doyle Funeral Home): Harry J. Zinn Jr. of West Haven and formerly of Milford, beloved husband of 39 years, to the late Susan (Norkaitis) Zinn, passed away on December 26, 2022.

Harry was born on February 20, 1951 in Milford to the late Harry J. Zinn, Sr. and Mary (Marcavage) Zinn. He was a proud U. S. Marine Corp veteran and served during the Vietnam War. Upon returning from the war, Harry put himself through college and graduated from the University of New Haven.

Harry was an accountant and partner for Beers, Hamerman, Cohen & Burger, P.C. in Fairfield.

He leaves behind two loving daughters, Jennifer Thurston (Tom Campbell) and Melanie Zinn and five beautiful granddaughters, Kaitlin, Isabella, Olivia, Abigail and Emma. He also leaves his brother, William Zinn in Florida and several nieces, nephews, in-laws and many dear friends.

Harry, better known as pop to his girls, was the best story teller, board game player, listener, and friend. All his girls always felt loved and cared for. He shared his last 3.5 years with his girlfriend Joanne Zimmer Evans.

Family and friends may call on Friday, December 30, 2022, from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the GREGORY F. DOYLE FUNERAL HOME, 291 BRIDGEPORT AVENUE, MILFORD. Interment to follow at 11:15 a.m. with Military Honors at Saint Michael’s Cemetery, Stratford.
