Obituary: ‘Iggy’ Hugh Barton Sr., 60, of West Haven

“Iggy” Hugh Barton Sr., 60, of West Haven, passed away suddenly at home on July 10, 2020. He was the loving husband of Kathleen Mennone Barton. Iggy was born in New Haven, son of Jerome Barton Sr. of West Haven and the late Esther Clark Barton. He is also survived by his children, Erica Mennone of West Haven, Melissa (John Miller) Barton of New Haven, Hugh Barton Jr., Kara (Edward) Nieves and Barry Armando Ayala all of West Haven, his grandchildren, Hakeem, Kevin and Leland Miller, Ethen, Calianne and Owen Nieves, his siblings, Edward (Dawn) Clark of West Haven and Michele (Louis) Persiani of Hamden, 9 nieces and nephews, many great nieces and great nephews and many other loved ones he has touched throughout his life. He was predeceased by his Brother Jerome Barton Jr.

For many years, Iggy was a truck driver. He loved to go bowling and playing golf.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the West Haven Funeral Home at the Green. Interment will be private.
