Obituary: Jeri Cavallaro Marchitto, 89, Of West Haven

WEST HAVEN, CT — (From West Haven Funeral Home): Jeri Cavallaro Marchitto, 89, of West Haven, entered into rest on May 31, 2023, after a brief illness. Daughter of the late Anthony and Amelia (Messina) Cavallaro. She was the wife of the late Gene Marchitto.

Jeri leaves her children Donald (Jennifer) Marchitto, Doreen (Joe) Davis, Dave (Sharon) Marchitto, Jamie DeAngelis, her beloved grandchildren David (Sean Colombari) Marchitto, Chris (Jeni) Atchley, Dani and James DeAngelis and cherished great granddaughter Eloise Atchley. Jeri was predeceased by her siblings, Barbara Misbach, Eugene, William, and Edward Cavallaro. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.

In her earlier years, Jeri worked at the Webb Shop in Allingtown. Later on, she served as secretary at the Edward L. Bennett Rink. Her children and their friends looked forward to her Saturday Night homemade fried dough pizza. Family and friends were also spoiled with her homemade banana cakes and cheesecakes.

The matriarch of a close-knit family, Jeri will be remembered for recognizing birthdays by sending carefully selected cards. Jeri also enjoyed going to the casino.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the West Haven Funeral Home at the green. There are no other services.
