Obituary: John H. Luth, 76, of West Haven

John retired from the City of West Haven, highway dept. in 1988, and was a founding member of The Catalina's, a 50's doo-wop inspired band.

John H. Luth, 76, of West Haven, entered into rest on October 24, 2018. He was the loving husband of Elizabeth G. Luth. Proud father of Joseph (Sue) Luth, Lisa (Mike) Woosley and Doreen Luth. Adoring grandfather of Vanessa (David) Hill, Katelynn Hanson, Nicole and Michael Woosley, Kyrle, Briana and Gunther Luth; great grandchildren Jaiden Montes and Logan Hill. Loving brother of Barbara Erff, Betty Martin. He was predeceased by his parents, Carl and Helen Sullivan Luth Sr., and siblings, Nancy Massari, and Carl Luth Jr.

John retired from the City of West Haven, highway dept. in 1988. He was a founding member of The Catalina’s, a 50’s doo-wop inspired band, noted especially for their single, Castle of Love.

Visitation will take place on Monday, Oct. 29 from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the West Haven Funeral Home at the green. A celebration of John’s life will begin at 6:30 p.m.
