Obituary: John Joseph Lago, 79, Of West Haven
A man with many interests, he was one of the executives instrumental in founding the video gaming industry.

WEST HAVEN, CT — (Contributed): John Joseph Lago, 79, of West Haven, died December 15, 2022.
John was born May 4, 1943, in Derby, CT to John and Carmella Lago (Grillo). He was a graduate of Quinnipiac University and member of Tau Kappa Epsilon, class of 1967. He lived a life of beauty, adventure, and deep friendships.
He traveled extensively throughout the USA, relocating to Las Vegas in the 1970s, then to California in the 1980s, where he raised a family.

A man with many interests, he worked in casino gaming for the Dunes in Las Vegas in his younger years, went on to be one of the executives instrumental in founding the video gaming industry, and even owned an ice cream shop on Balboa Island. He ultimately ventured into commercial lending until retiring back in Connecticut.
Cooking, gardening, margaritas, jazz, westerns, beaches, and classic cars were among his many passions and talents.

He is survived by his beloved of 38 years, Nancy Kelly; daughter, Ashley Lago; son, John Lago; sister, Janice Hardaswick and family, and many dear cousins.
