Obituary: John R. Hotchkiss Jr. 25, of West Haven

Johnny had a big heart and a deep smile that warmed so many and was always willing to help a friend.

John R. Hotchkiss Jr. 25, of West Haven loving father of Aubree Grace Hotchkiss passed away suddenly on November 27, 2017 in Florida. Beloved son of Anthony and Annmarie Williams Mongillo of West Haven. He was the loving brother of Adrian (Michael) Latella of Orange. Cherished grandson of Fred and Maryann Williams of West Haven and Patricia Mongillo of East Haven.

Caring uncle of Michael, Olivia and Emma Latella. John also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Johnny was an alumnus of Eagle Brook School in South Deerfield, MA. He also attended Salisbury Prep in Salisbury, CT.

Johnny was a talented hockey player and had a passion for BMX biking, cars, fishing, golfing, his family and friends. He was a diehard Philadelphia Flyers and Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoyed watching both. Johnny had a big heart and a deep smile that warmed so many and was always willing to help a friend.
In his youth, he could be found traveling for hockey or at the skate park in West Haven with his friends.

An accomplished hockey player, Johnny played for many teams including The Philadelphia Revolution. John resided in Florida and was attending Universal Technical Institute in Orlando, studying auto-mechanics.
Relatives and friends are invited to go DIRECTLY to Our Lady of Victory Church to celebrate A Mass of Christian Burial TUESDAY morning at 11:00 A.M. Interment will be private.
