Obituary: Lynda M. Kelly, 75, Of West Haven

WEST HAVEN, CT — (From West Haven Funeral Home): Lynda M. Kelly, 75, of West Haven, died at home July 27, 2023. Her family was by her side.

Lynda’s heartbroken family includes her husband Retired West Shore Fire Chief William F. Kelly, her son Bryan (Melissa) Kelly, retired ATF Taskforce Officer, daughter Patricia Kelly (Louis) Flood, four adored grandchildren Kaitlyn & Louis Flood, Rylee and Brody Kelly, as well as nephews Kyle Thomas and Ryan Staplin. Lynda’s parents, Gurdon R. and Ellen M. Casey Baldwin, along with her sister Ellen Staplin, brother Brian Baldwin, and niece Shannon Staplin Nelson predecease her.

Lynda led a full and active life. She had a long banking career as a manager, then serving as treasurer for the City of West Haven from 1985 to 1989.

From Maine to Key West, out to Arizona, travel was something she enjoyed immensely. A trip to Ireland in 2019 proved to be a wonderful adventure, although Key West remained her all-time favorite spot. Spending time with family and friends was very special to her.

However, the fun, love and adventures Lynda shared with her grandchildren brought her the greatest joy.

Family and friends may visit on Wednesday, August 2, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the West Haven Funeral Home. A prayer service will begin at 11 o’clock. A private burial will follow.
