After her forced retirement following the closure of Sam’s, she became a member of the West Haven Italian American Club’s Senior Ladies Guild, where she served on the board and played bingo on Tuesdays. Over the years, she developed strong and lasting relationships with her coworkers at Sam’s Club and with her bingo friends. Her no-nonsense, yet caring demeanor and generous spirit made her well-liked by all who knew her.
Nettie loved trips to Mohegan Sun, lobster rolls, reading, and puzzles of all kinds. She stayed current on politics and the news, and she always knew “whodunnit” when it came to all of her mystery shows like NCIS and Law and Order. Her quick wit and sharpness stayed with her through her final hours, providing great comfort to her family during her passing.
