Obituary: Tyrone Rodney Henyard, 37, Of West Haven

A West Haven High School graduate, he worked at Yale New Haven Health as an Environmental Services Associate for nine years.

WEST HAVEN, CT — (From Hamden Memorial Funeral Home): On Friday, July 10, 2020 God in his infinite wisdom called Tyrone Rodney Henyard a.k.a S.O.V home after a long battle with congestive heart failure.

Tyrone was born in New Haven, CT on November 27, 1982 at Yale New Haven Hospital to the parents of Karen Henyard and the late Tyrone Smith.

Tyrone lived in West Haven, CT most(all) of his life. He was educated through the West Haven school system and graduated from West Haven High School in 2001. He was employed at Yale New Haven Health as an Environmental Services Associate for nine years.

Tyrone was a musically inclined genius and received multiple awards throughout the CT Hip Hop scene.

Tyrone loved his family. Left to cherish his memory is fiancé Nicole Cox his three beloved children son Giovanni Tyrone (9), daughters Lyric-Karen-lyn (8) and Tylee Loren Henyard (7). Mother Karen Henyard, Mother in-law Carolyn Worthy Father in-law Roderick Cox, Uncles Ricky Henyard, John Henyard, and Gregory Henyard, Aunt LaWanda Lewis, Sisters Patricia Henyard-Abraham, Iesha Aleman, and Rehema Cornelius, niece Shayna Abraham, two nephews Jason Henyard and Keefe Abraham, Best friends/Brothers Dominique Beall, Leroy Gee, Wydell Sims, Bryant Quinones, Andre Bright, Khalid Worthy Sr., Lorenzo Foreman, and Goddaughter Taylor Holloway. Tyrone is also predeceased by father Tyrone Smith, Grandfather Woodfen Henyard, Grandmother Lula Henyard, Aunts Winnie Jeter, Deborah Henyard, and Uncle Robert Henyard and also survived by a host of relatives and friends.

A celebration of Tyrone life will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2020 at 1300 Hamden Memorial Funeral public viewing will be held at 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. and service will be held from 11-12 please remember to social distance and please wear a mask. Tyrone you will truly be missed.
