Obituary: Victor Ryan Forbes, 33; West Haven Native

Ryan was a strong and active member of the Habitat for Humanity team. His hobbies included various sports, photography, and astronomy.

WEST HAVEN, CT — (From Porto Funeral Home): Victor Ryan Forbes, 33, originally of West Haven, born on November 15, 1989 passed away suddenly from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident on September 22, 2023.

Loving father of his twin daughters, Giana and Alexia. Beloved son of Carolyn (Fred) Nelson of West Haven and Victor (Tracy) Forbes Jr. of Hamden. Brother of Marissa Forbes of West Haven and Shaunte Tucker of New Haven. Uncle of Joseph “Junie” and Kauren. Godchild of Ann Marie (Ed) Nista. Grandson of the late Tony and Grace DiBattista. He is survived by many loving extended family and friends.

At the time of his death, Victor Ryan was a project design manager for Deane Incorporated, in Stamford. He had a gifted intellect, philosophical spirit, and sought justice in all situations. He overcame many life obstacles and was a perfectionist in whatever endeavor he pursued.

An avid reader, he could devise a practical solution for even the most complex issues. He loved his family, especially his twin daughters, with whom he nurtured during their time in the NICU and relentlessly pursued a relationship with for the past 10 years.

Ryan was a strong and active member of the Habitat for Humanity team. His hobbies included various sports, photography, and astronomy.

Family and friends are invited to a parlor service in the PORTO FUNERAL HOME, 830 Jones Hill Rd., West Haven SATURDAY morning September 30, 2023 at 11 a.m. Interment will be private. Family and friends may call FRIDAY from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
