Obituary: William H. Verneau Jr., 88, Of West Haven
A proud U.S. Navy Veteran, Wiliam worked for SNET and upon retirement became a Crossing Guard for the City of West Haven.
WEST HAVEN, CT — (From West Haven Funeral Home): William H. Verneau Jr., 88, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2023. For 60 years he was the loving husband of Carol Roberge Verneau. William was born in New Haven, son of the late William Sr. and Gertrude Donovan Verneau.
In addition to his wife, he is also survived by his son Craig (Patricia) Verneau of Cheshire and his daughter Cheryl (James) Burton of Danbury, his grandchildren, Colleen Verneau, Emily Burton, Ashley Verneau and Aiden Burton. William was predeceased by his granddaughter Kelly Ann Verneau and his sister Charlotte White.
William was a proud U.S. Navy Veteran, serving aboard the USS Missouri during the Korean War. He was a self-taught master woodworker. For his professional career, Wiliam worked for SNET and upon retirement became a Crossing Guard for the City of West Haven.
