Shooting Suspect Arrested In West Haven: UPDATE
The victim was shot several times after an argument in a building stairwell on Thursday night, police said.

WEST HAVEN, CT — West Haven Police have arrested Eugene McKnight, 33, of Coleman Street, in connection to Thursday night’s shooting. Police responded to a Coleman Street address at about 10 p.m. on Sept. 22 on the report of a person being shot. Police said the victim was hospitalized after being shot several times in a building stairwell.
The victim was shot in the arm and torso after an argument ensued, police said in a Friday afternoon update. McKnight fled prior to police arrival on Thursday night and was arrested on Friday morning. (To sign up for West Haven breaking news alerts and more, click here.)
McKnight was charged with assault, home invasion and criminal use of a firearm. He was held on bond.
