Missing University of New Haven Student Found Safe: UPDATE

A Silver Alert was issued for the 18-year-old on Thursday morning.

WEST HAVEN, CT — In a Thursday night update, West Haven Police say missing UNH student Allie McGrory has been found safe. West Haven Police were notified that McGrory was found in New Haven by the Yale Police Department and said she is in good health. No further information was immediately provided.

In a Thursday afternoon update, police said during a press conference that missing University of New Haven student Allie McGrory sent a roommate a text that indicated she was feeling a “little distraught,”according to NBC Connecticut.

NBC Connecticut reports that McGrory, a New Jersey resident and a member of the softball team, was brought back to school by her father on Tuesday night but never showed up for classes or practice on Wednesday.

Police do not suspect at foul play at this point.

A Silver Alert was issued for McGrory on Wednesday morning.

The West Haven Police and University New Haven Police departments are working together in an attempt to locate her.

McGrory is described by police as a white female with brown hair and brown eyes. She is 5-feet, 2-inches tall and weighs 130 pounds.
