Popular Bar Closes In West Haven
The bar closed last week, but the owner reportedly may try to reopen it based on the outpouring of support he has received.

WEST HAVEN, CT — A popular downtown bar closed last week in West Haven, however, the owner may try to reopen it based the outpouring of support he has received, according to the New Haven Register. Stevie B’s, located at 555 Campbell Avenue, closed last week due to “health and financial reasons,” according to a post on its Facebook page on Nov. 15.
The Register reports that a neon orange notice, dated Nov. 15, at the bar reads, “WARNING — State Marshal’s Seizure” and is related to an eviction proceeding.
“Well they say all good things come to an end,” reads a Nov. 15 post on the Stevie B’s Bar & Grill Facebook page. “That is the case for the bar known as Stevie B’s. There will be plenty of rumors and gossip etc… about why we are closed. I will say that health, and financial reasons are the true reason behind my decision. As I look back on what we were able to accomplished the past 2 plus years together. We took a bar that was known for nothing but negativity, crime, and overall (sh****) place and transformed it into something that anyone who stepped through the door was happy they made the choice. A place that West Haven can always look to as proof that you can absolutely run an establishment free from the elements that seem to creep into bars and make them feel unwelcoming, or dangerous. We did that!

“We created some lifelong memories that cannot be replaced or duplicated. We witnessed some amazing talent and partied with our friends who became family to us. I am immensely proud of my staff and all of our friends who time and time again proved that they fully supported and stood behind the concept of Stevie B’s.”
Steve Boddie, the owner of Stevie B’s, told the New Haven Register that based on the outpouring of support he’s received since the bar closed he’s “talking to” his attorneys and the landlord to see if he can work out the problems and possibly reopen the bar.
