Obituary: Richard 'Rick' Way, 67, Of West Haven

He will be remembered best for his tireless work to make the lives of those around him easier and for making the best stuffed clams around

Richard “Rick” Way, 67, of West Haven passed away on Wednesday February 18, 2026. Beloved husband of Kathryn M. Way, Rick was born on February 28, 1958 to the late Robert and Jean Way in Bridgeport, Connecticut.

He was an accomplished guitar player and cook, but Rick’s true passion was in being on the water. He loved to fish and share his extensive knowledge and skill and, in doing so, he formed many lifelong friendships.

Rick never met a stranger. He connected meaningfully with others and genuinely cared about their wellbeing. He will be remembered best for his tireless work to make the lives of those around him easier and for making the best stuffed clams around.
